General Information: Cyanothece sp. ATCC 51142 was isolated from intertidal sands from the Gulf of Mexico in Texas. The marine diazotrophic strain, Cyanothece sp. ATCC 51142, has a robust diurnal cycle in which photosynthesis is performed during the day and nitrogen fixation at night.
