This organism is a phytopathogen that is found in the soil and causes systemic wilting disease in many important food crops such as tomatoes, potatoes, bananas, tobacco, pepper, peanut, ginger, and eucalyptus. It can infect plants found in over 50 different families and this pathogen can be carried asymptomatically in some species.
