Aerobic, Gram-negative, non-fermentative, rod-shaped, motile, orange-pigmented bacterium isolated from sea-water samples collected from Port Shelter, Hong Kong, China, in August 2002. It was isolated from a sea-water sample collected from the outlet of a tank storing sand-filtered sea water that was pumped from a depth of 5 m.
