General Information: Methylotrophic bacteria are a group of bacteria which are able to grow aerobically at the expense of methanol as the sole source of carbon and energy, and therefore could serve as biocatalysts for the conversion of methanol to commercially valuable multicarbon compounds like amino acids and cytochromes.
