General Information: This species (originally described as Helicobacter acinonyx) was isolated from the stomach of a cheetah with gastritis. It was found to be most closely related to the human pathogen H. pylori on the basis of 16S rRNA phylogeny and densitometry scans of polyacrylamide protein gels.
