General Information: This group of Enterobactericiae have pathogenic characteristics and are one of the most common causes of enteric infections (food poisoning) worldwide. General Information: This is gram-negative bacterium pathogenic in plants. Characterized as causing halo blight on beans (Phaseolus vulgaris). This bacterium is closely related to Pseudomonas syringae pv. glycinea and Pseudomonas syringae pv. savastanoi and produces phaseolotoxin, which is a phytotoxin. Strain 1448A is a natural occurring rifampicin-resistant mutant strain and contains a non-functional homolog of avrPphE.
