Query: NC_016514:3048883 Enterobacter cloacae EcWSU1 chromosome, complete genome Lineage: Enterobacter cloacae; Enterobacter; Enterobacteriaceae; Enterobacteriales; Proteobacteria; Bacteria General Information: These "ICU bugs" cause significant morbidity and mortality, and infection management is complicated by multiple antibiotic resistance. These bacteria possess inducible beta-lactamases, which are undetectable in vitro but are also responsible for resistance during treatment

General Information: Naphthalene-degrading bacterium. Polaromonas naphthalenivorans was isolated from naphthalene-contaminated, freshwater sediment. This organism is capable of aerobic degradation of naphthalene at temperatures of less than 20 degrees C. Naphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH). PAHs can be toxic and/or carcinogenic, therefore PAH contamination is of considerable concern.
