General Information: Strain 1448A is a natural occurring rifampicin-resistant mutant strain. This is gram-negative bacterium pathogenic in plants. Characterized as causing halo blight on beans (Phaseolus vulgaris). This bacterium is closely related to Pseudomonas syringae pv. glycinea and Pseudomonas syringae pv. savastanoi and produces phaseolotoxin, which is a phytotoxin.
