General Information: Causative agent of Lyme borreliosis. This species was isolated from a skin lesion from a Lyme disease patient in Europe in 1993. It is a specific aetological agent of acrodermatitis chronica atrophicans (ACA). This organism can be differentiated from other Borrelia species by monoclonal antibody hybridization.
