Query: NC_013939:1902397 Deferribacter desulfuricans SSM1, complete genome Lineage: Deferribacter desulfuricans; Deferribacter; Deferribacteraceae; Deferribacterales; Deferribacteres; Bacteria General Information: Thermophilic sulphur-reducing bacterium. Isolated from a deep-sea hydrothermal vent chimney at the Suiyo Seamount in the Izu-Bonin Arc, Japan. Deferribacter desulfuricans is an anaerobic, heterotrophic thermophile. It is a strictly anaerobic heterotroph capable of using complex organic compounds, ethanol and various organic acids as energy and carbon sources. Elemental sulfur, nitrate or arsenate was required for growth as an electron acceptor.
