General Information: Aerobic, motile, halophilic, alkane degrader, Gram-negative bacterium isolated from oil-contaminated surface water of the Bohai Sea at the Yellow River dock at the side of the Shengli oilfield. This organims is an efficient degrader of C5-C36 alkanes. This property makes it a good microorganism for further development towards a bioremediation tool for oil pollution in marine enviroment.
