Query: NC_012587:1203103 Rhizobium sp. NGR234, complete genome Lineage: Sinorhizobium fredii; Sinorhizobium; Rhizobiaceae; Rhizobiales; Proteobacteria; Bacteria General Information: This organism, much like other Rhizobia, forms a symbiotic relationship with a leguminous plant, such as soybean, cowpea or pigeon pea. Expression of nodulation genes results in production of a nodulation signal which the plant cell recognizes inducing root nodule formation. The plant cell provides carbon compounds for the bacterium to grow on.

General Information: Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, formerly Thiobacillus ferrooxidans, is an acidophilic iron-oxidizing bacterium that is able to grow at a pH range of 1.3 to 4.0. This organism is often identified in acid mine drainage and as a member of microbial consortia involved in bioleaching. Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans has been identified as the dominant microorganism in percolation and continuous flow mineral leaching bioreactors.
