General Information: Teredinibacter turnerae was isolated from the gills of the wood-boring mollusc, Lyrodus pedicellatus. Dinitrogen-fixing, cellulolytic, endosymbiont. They have the unique ability to be able to both utilize cellulose as a sole carbon source and also to fix nitrogen.
