General Information: Haloarcula hispanica is a halophilic archaeon. Extremely halophilic archaeon. Has an unusually low restriction barrier. First isolated from a solar saltern in Spain. Ability to accumulate polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) when carbon sources are in excess.
