General Information: Thermoanaerobacter ethanolicus was isolated from a hot spring microbial mat in Yellowstone National Park. It is a thermophilic anaerobic bacterium, which ferments a wide range of hexose and pentose sugars, as well as starch and pullulan, to ethanol.

General Information: This organism was isolated from a boiling marine water hole in Maronti Beach, Ischia, Italy. It grows optimally a 100ºC and pH 7.0. It is able to grow both aerobically and anaerobically by dissimilatory nitrate reduction.
