Coprothermobacter proteolyticus is a nonmotile, non-spore-forming, rod-shaped, Gram-negative anaerobic bacterium. This organism was originally classified as Thermobacteroides proteolyticus and subsequently assigned to the new genus of Coprothermobacter.
