General Information: This strain was isolated from an arsenate treated wood pier that was in a brackish estuary (Eel Pond) in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. It is capable of converting As(V) to arsenite and may be used in bioremediation of contaminated sites.

The chromosome also contains genes resembling those of type III and IV secretion systems.
