General Information: Capnocytophaga ochracea DSM 7271 was isolated from the human oral cavity. This organism causes periodontal disease and can also be an opportunistic pathogens, causing septicemia, peritonitis, endocarditis and conjunctivitis in susceptible patients. These are Gram-negative, anaerobic gliding bacteria isolated from normal human supragingival plaque and from periodontal lesions.
