General Information: Causative agent of Lyme borreliosis. This species was isolated from a skin lesion from a Lyme disease patient in Europe in 1993. It is a specific aetological agent of acrodermatitis chronica atrophicans (ACA). This organism can be differentiated from other Borrelia species by monoclonal antibody hybridization.

General Information: Mycoplasma fermentans has been isolated from the respiratory and urogenital tract, primarily from immunocompromised patients and may be a factor in the progression of HIV infection to AIDS.
