Query: NC_006361:3132000 Nocardia farcinica IFM 10152, complete genome Lineage: Nocardia farcinica; Nocardia; Nocardiaceae; Actinomycetales; Actinobacteria; Bacteria General Information: This type strain was isolated from the bronchus of a male Japanese patient. Opportunistic human pathogen. This genus was originally described from specimens isolated by plating soil suspensions on diagnostic sensitivity test plates augmented with antifungal agents. Organisms in this genus cause opportunistic human pulmonary and systemic nocardiosis. This can complicate existing debilitating conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, or other neoplasms, or illnesses in patients with compromised immune systems.

General Information: Burkholderia cenocepacia MC0-3 was isolated from soil associated with maize roots. This species (genomovar III) is part of the Burkholderia cepacia complex, which consists of 9 closely related species, also known as genomovars. These organisms are commonly found in soil and all are opportunistic pathogens espcially in cystic fibrosis patients.
