Lineage: Nocardia farcinica; Nocardia; Nocardiaceae; Actinomycetales; Actinobacteria; Bacteria

General Information: This type strain was isolated from the bronchus of a male Japanese patient. Opportunistic human pathogen. This genus was originally described from specimens isolated by plating soil suspensions on diagnostic sensitivity test plates augmented with antifungal agents.
