General Information: Salmonella enterica subspecies enterica serovar Typhi P-stx-12 is a clinical isolate obtained from a Typhoid Carrier in India. This group of Enterobactericiae have pathogenic characteristics and are one of the most common causes of enteric infections (food poisoning) worldwide.

General Information: This organism is an obligate parasite of pigs. The bacterium colonizes and invades the porcine lower respiratory tract and can survive phagocytosis by macrophages, eventually resulting in the death of the macrophage cell.
