General Information: Mycoplasma fermentans has been isolated from the respiratory and urogenital tract, primarily from immunocompromised patients and may be a factor in the progression of HIV infection to AIDS. General Information: This organism, much like other Rhizobia, forms a symbiotic relationship with a leguminous plant, such as soybean, cowpea or pigeon pea. The plant cell provides carbon compounds for the bacterium to grow on.
