General Information: Butyrivibrio proteoclasticus, formerly Clostridium proteoclasticum, was isolated from rumen contents of a cow. This organism is highly proteolytic and therefore probably involved in the degradation of proteins in the rumen.

General Information: This organism, much like other Rhizobia, forms a symbiotic relationship with a leguminous plant, such as soybean, cowpea or pigeon pea. The plant cell provides carbon compounds for the bacterium to grow on.
