General Information: Vibrio sp. EX25 was isolated from samples taken from a deep-sea hydrothermal vent community along the East Pacific Rise. This organism is notable for its ability to reduce selenate to selenite and further to insoluble elemental selenium, in a process called dissimilatory selenate reduction.
