General Information: This chemoautotrophic strain was isolated from Mono Lake in California, which contains arsenic and has high pH and salt concentrations. Arsenite-oxidizing bacterium. Alkalilimnicola ehrlichei is capable of growth with arsenite [As(III)] as the electron donor with nitrate as electron acceptor.
