General Information: Cellvibrio japonicus Ueda107 (NCIMB 10462) was isolated from field soil in Japan and is a common soil microorganism which produces a number of plant cell wall degrading enzymes, such as cellulase and xylanase.

General Information: This bacterium, formerly Enterobacter sakazakii, is associated with infant septicemia, meningitis, and necrotizing enterocolitis. Originally isolated from powdered formula, it has also been shown to compartmentalize cerebral ventricles and cause brain abcesses in neonates. This species produces a yellow pigment when grown at 30 degrees C, but this fades at 37 degrees C.
