Query: NC_010814:1390817 Geobacter lovleyi SZ, complete genome Lineage: Geobacter lovleyi; Geobacter; Geobacteraceae; Desulfuromonadales; Proteobacteria; Bacteria General Information: Su-Zi Creek sediment was collected near a suburban residential area with no reported contamination in June 2002 near Seoul, South Korea. This species was isolated from creek sediment based on its ability to derive energy from acetate oxidation coupled to tetrachloroethene (PCE)-to-cis-1,2-dichloroethene (cis-DCE) dechlorination.

General Information: Chlorobium phaeobacteroides strain DSM 266 was isolated from a lake in Norway. This species contains several carotenoids, predominated by isorenieratene and beta-isorenieratene. These are necessary for light harvesting and photoprotection, which are important functions in photosynthesis. This species demonstrates a novel type of carotenoid-mediated photoadaptation induced by the change of theta-end and beta-end carotenoid groups, under various light intensities.
