General Information: Thermoanaerobacter ethanolicus was isolated from a hot spring microbial mat in Yellowstone National Park. It is a thermophilic anaerobic bacterium, which ferments a wide range of hexose and pentose sugars, as well as starch and pullulan, to ethanol.

The dollarfish (genus Peprilus), is found from Maine to South Carolina, USA during the summer.
