General Information: This species was isolated from soil enriched with acetamide in Delft in the Netherlands. It was originally classified as Comamonas acidivorans in 1926, and redescribed and characterized in 1999. When cell density increases, the organism switches to "social motility" where aggregates of cells can gather together into masses termed fruiting bodies that may consist of up to 100 000 cells.
