Start: 585807, End: 605599, Length: 19793

Host Lineage: Chlamydia pneumoniae; Chlamydia; Chlamydiaceae; Chlamydiales; Chlamydiae; Bacteria

General Information: Isolated in Japan in 1994 from the pharyngeal mucosa of a 5 year old male patient with acute bronchitis. They are transmitted by direct contact or aerosols, and can cause various diseases, while also being able to coexist with the host in an apparently asymptomatic state.
